Kylian Mbappe scored one goal and two badists as stylish France continued their perfect start to qualifying for Euro 2020 with a 4-0 win over Iceland in Paris.

Samuel Umtiti gave the world champions the lead after just 12 minutes, as he climbed the highest to reorient the center of Mbappe in the opposite corner.

Olivier Giroud sealed the points after the break, using his thigh to guide the center of Benjamin Pavard on the right after the slightest deflection of Icelandic goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsson.

Giroud's goal broke the tie with David Trezeguet, France's third scorer with 35 goals. Only Thierry Henry (51) and Michel Platini (41) scored more goals with Blues than Giroud who won his 89th cap.

Mbappe added shine to the scoreboard 12 minutes from the end – the Paris Saint-Germain star slid his shot to the far post after being defeated by Antoine Griezmann.

And Griezmann completed the rout six minutes later, hitting Halldorsson coldly after the daring Mbappe's heel found him behind the defense.

France, who beat Moldova 4-1 in their first qualifying match, completed the international break with six points in two Group H games, while Iceland placed fourth with three points.

"We have been very effective against a very defensive team and it is a source of great satisfaction," said coach Didier Deschamps of France at the end of the match.

Iceland has won more than just one of its last 17 games.

"We knew it would be a tough challenge, but their quick goal made it even more difficult," said Iceland coach Erik Hamren. "Then, when they scored the second goal, we were really in trouble – it's a first-clbad team."

At the same time, Turkey became France's main rival in the group after beating Moldova 4-0 thanks to a brace Cenk Tosun after beating Albania 2-0 last Friday.
