Gary McAllister was badaulted in Leeds and had to be hospitalized
Football star Gary McAllister was attacked in central Leeds.
The Rangers' deputy director and former Leeds United captain was in front of a Call Lane bar when he was attacked on Saturday around 4:00 GMT.
He was punched in the face, should have been hospitalized and would be recovering at home.
In a publication on Facebook, Dominic Matteo, a former Leeds player, said the attack had left McAllister without three teeth and that he needed plastic surgery and stitches.
West Yorkshire police did not name McAllister, but officers confirmed that officers were investigating an alleged badault.

McAllister, who is Steven Gerrard's badistant to the Rangers, is reported to be recovering at home in North Yorkshire, according to The Sun.

The 54-year-old had gone out to dinner in the city center with his wife when they were attacked while waiting for a taxi, the newspaper said.
In the Facebook article, Matteo called the attack "totally unprovoked and very vicious".
He added: "It is thought that the attacker is American and that because of the severity of the injuries, he may be wearing a feather duster" similar wadding "."

McAllister won 57 caps for Scotland and was captain of the team for the Euro 96 finals.
He played for Leeds from 1990 to 1996, when they became champions of the former First Division in 1992.
He was also captain of the team for two seasons before moving to Coventry City.
The former midfielder joined Coventry's management team in 2002, after a spell for Liverpool, before taking up his duties with the Rangers last year.
Detective James Entwistle, Leeds District CID, said: "The initial report indicated that a 50-year-old man was standing in front of a bar when a man approached him and l & # 39; Struck in the face, causing injuries requiring hospitalization.
"We are making arrangements to talk to the victim to gather more detailed information about the incident and will continue the investigation to identify the person responsible."
McAllister has been contacted for a comment.
