Coronation Street star, Katie McGlynn, told her fans that she had a habit of "thinking pink" with a regression picture that looks like a far-off character from her Sinead Tinker character on the cobblestones .

The star of the show once saw the time when she had donned a long pink wig with the echoes of Frenchy Grease in an Instagram snap that would encourage its followers to look twice.

The 25-year-old soap star has captioned the regression picture: "Abandon the School of Beauty. #Throwback #frenchy #pinkhair #pinkhairmakesmehappy."

Some think it might be a clue as to whether Katie's alter-ego soap will survive her battle with cervical cancer.

There was a time when fans of the ITV soap opera thought that there was no way back for Sinead, especially after the diagnosis had seemed fatal, with an aggressive form of cancer.

There is now a light at the end of the tunnel, as Katie has hinted that Sinead could actually win his battle against Big C.

Addressing the Daily Star Sunday, Katie said, "I'll be here until next year." It's a long story.

"If I stay longer, it will be great because Sinead is a very good character."

Katie has worked closely with a charity that raises awareness and helps people with cancer.
