Candidate Johanna Jones sang Chris Isaak's "Nasty Game" on Monday in "American Idol" – but her boyfriend was the real mainstay.
Matt Zavoral rushed on stage and took a knee to propose. Jones said yes.
Judge Katy Perry of course cried as the timing unfolded. "Why does not anyone like me like that?" She says.
"I do not know how many actors and actresses can produce as many tears on demand as she sobbed," Zavoral told The Sacramento Bee. The couple will marry in June, said the bridegroom.
American Idol describes Jones as a 23-year-old fast-food cook from Las Vegas. According to Deseret News, she and her fiance are studying at Brigham Young University.
Jones has also received good news on the vocal front, moving on to the next series of "Idol".
Reality talent contest proposals seem to be in fashion these days. Candidate Denton Arnell asked his girlfriend's question in "The Voice" a few weeks ago. He had a yes too.
