Despite the alleged dissatisfaction of certain persons suspected of belonging to his own party – the New Patriotic Party – following his appointment, MCE candidate for the Keta Municipal Assembly, Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah, was strongly endorsed by members of the Assembly on Monday.

The nominated candidate garnered 28 votes out of a total of 30 votes cast by Assembly members, resulting in 93.3% approval.

Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah was sworn in as General Director of the General Assembly, replacing Mr. Seth Yormewu, who was transferred to the newly created Anloga District Assembly.

His confirmation follows the election of a Speaker of the Assembly, which took place earlier Monday morning.

L & # 39; Hon. Wilson Kofi Bonuedie, the only candidate, also obtained a similar result of 28 "yes" votes, out of a total of 30 votes cast, to become the Speaker of the Assembly.

Before the opening of the poll, the Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Yao Archibald Letsa, present alongside other faithful supporters, asked the members of the Assembly, in a brief message, to give full support to the candidate's support and acceptance by issuing one hundred percent approval, as has been done in the other new districts.

"Just as I represent the president in the Volta region and a few more days in Oti [comic]Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah, would be the representative of the president here at the Municipal Assembly of Keta. But our laws require that it be approved by the honorable members of the Assembly. We are here. "

"The president has asked me to plead with you, to approve his candidate to 100% .I want us to do it, because if we do not do it, you will shame me."

The new ECM, Mr. Godwin Edudzi Effah, is from Keta and has a basic education at the Keta Dzelukorpe E.P Basic School and the Anlo Technical Institute (Secondary).

He earned his first Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast and his MBA in Accounting from the same university a year later.
