CAN U-23: Ghana face Algeria in final qualifying

Ghana will face Algeria in the third and final qualifying round of the U-23 Nations Cup 2019 in June.

The Black Meteors sealed their place after a 0-0 draw with Gabon in Libreville to advance from the second qualifying round 4-0 overall.

Algeria, for its part, eliminated Equatorial Guinea 3-1 overall after a home win in the second leg.

Ghana will welcome North Africans on June 5th at home and the return leg in Algiers four days later.

The winner will join six other teams and host Egypt for the final round scheduled for November 8-22.

The Africa Cup of Nations U-23 will serve as a qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, with the top three teams ready to purchase tickets for the world championship.

Ghana has not qualified for the U-23 CAN since the start of the tournament in 2011.

For the Olympic Games, the Black Meteors have been absent since the first round of the 2004 selection in Athens, Greece.
