Ghana and Malta have signed five memoranda of understanding for the establishment of partnerships between the two countries.

This signing ceremony took place yesterday when President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo Dankwa made a one-day official visit to Malta, where he had bilateral talks with his Maltese counterpart, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca .

The agreements between the governments of Ghana and Malta concern medicines, bilateral air services, the prevention of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income, tourism and a joint commission for bilateral cooperation.

Speaking at a luncheon held in his honor, President Akufo-Addo said the agreements "will serve as a solid springboard for more dynamic and dynamic engagements in key sectors of our respective economies."

Thanking President Coleiro-Preca for the warm hospitality extended to him, President Akufo-Addo said that the visit to Ghana of his Maltese counterpart in July 2017 was the first time that a President of the Republic from Malta in office rendered a C & # 39; was the first time that a Maltese president was traveling to a country located south of the Sahara.

"
