Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo warned girls to sleep with older men for iPhones.

According to her, a phone is only a tool and no girl should offer her body in exchange.

Ms. Akuffo spoke at the Chief Justice Mentorship Program in Kumasi on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.

The program aims to expose students to the functions of the judiciary and to instil in them the virtues of patriotism and selflessness.

"Girls, do not trust a dirty old man for an iPhone or any type of phone. It's a tool, that's all, one day you will own one [one]. You can buy one if you are patient and you do not discard your virtue ", the chief justice said.

She added that the time spent on the phone should be used for important tasks, rather than trivial matters.

She urged girls to make better use of the Internet by learning to improve their lives, regardless of their field of activity.

The Chief Justice urged youth to emphasize honesty, respect, hard work, self-discipline, integrity and service.

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also read a speech on her behalf at the Chief Justice's Mentorship Program.

Asantehene congratulated the Chief Justice for improving the justice sector, adding that the mentorship program was going in the right direction.
