Harry Kane revealed that he wished to leave Tottenham for the NFL.

Striker Kane is considered one of the best players in world football with a total of 164 goals in 249 appearances for the Spurs.

He helped turn Mauricio Pochettino's team of six best hopes in qualifying for the Champions League – the North London club recording a trio of the top three in the Premier League.

Kane was also a pioneer for England after helping the Three Lions qualify for the semifinals of the World Cup – having scored 22 times in 37 international caps.

But Kane admitted that his long-term future could be based on a different kind of football.

Aged 25, whose current contract in Tottenham lasts until 2024, he is a big fan of the NFL and counts legend of quarterback Tom Brady as one of his idols.

And in his quest to become a "great sportsman," Kane unveiled his plans to change the code in the future.

"It's true," Kane told ESPN. "It's something I absolutely want to try in 10 or 12 years."

"This brings us back to the desire to be the best.Although I download a game on my phone, can I be the best in the world?"

The Spurs and NFL are ready to engage in a close partnership over the next two years with matches to be played in their new stadium.

The 62,000 new Tottenham locations will host two NFL games in the 2019 season.

Kane and New England Patriot, and six-time Super Bowl winner, Brady followed a career path similar to that of a youngster, and the goal machine explained why he idolizes the American.

"I started watching it on YouTube," said Kane.

"We had similar doubts when we were younger, maybe we are not the best athletes we are kids."

"It was a big inspiration – not many people thought it would become so good, or even play in the NFL, and it became the best of all time.

"At the time, it gave me a real boost to say: anything is possible, if you have that confidence in yourself, that motivation and hunger, you can do it."
