Greenhouse International protest highlights tensions in Ghanaian companies under foreign control ▷ Ghana news

The constant tension between Ghanaians working for foreign-controlled heavy industrial enterprises has pushed their ugly heads while workers of a Chinese construction company are protesting against "inhuman treatment".

Workers at Greenhouse International Development Ghana Limited, a Chinese construction company based in Ashaiman and Afienya in the Greater Accra region, would be harmed by what they described as inhuman treatment at the hands of their foreign leaders.

The Citinewsroom.com Report preview by YEN.com.gh states that workers feel repressed by their leaders, as all other internal pathways to remedy the problems have been null and void.

Workers therefore express their dissatisfaction and withdraw their work for a while.

A worker who spoke on behalf of others said: "No salary increase for a few years now. No leave. We can not go to the hospital. No insurance. No SSNIT.

"We are slaves of the Chinese now. If someone is sick after working for the company, the company does not take care of that person. "

Another employee, a woman, also drew attention to allegations of workplace harbadment.

"If we work, especially the workers who see themselves above us, they will come and put pressure on your (private parts). If you refuse, they will start insulting you or threatening to fire you. "

According to reports, efforts to talk to officials at Greenhouse International Development Ghana Limited were unsuccessful.

This new development is the latest in a very long history of tensions in foreign companies in Ghana. Usually, most tensions and manifestations are manifested in industrial enterprises.

Over the past 30 years, investments in Ghana have allowed hundreds of multinationals and thousands of small businesses to locate in Ghana.

Although the media occasionally stress the treatment of Ghanaians in foreign companies, government pressure does not really follow publicity.
