Singapore Changi named still world's best airport

Changi Airport in Singapore has once again been named the best in the world.

For the seventh year in a row, he won first prize at the 2019 World Airport Awards.

Travelers voted for the award. 13.5 million questionnaires were completed during the six-month survey period.

New Zealand has two airports in the top 100. Auckland slipped a bit to 27th out of 24 last year, Christchurch earned a spot at 51.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax who led the awards, said Changni's success was "really fabulous".

"Winning this award at the best airport in the world is a very clear recognition of the team effort of all airport staff that contributes to the success of Changi Airport."

In the Australia / Pacific region, Brisbane was named the best, followed by Sydney and Melbourne. Auckland is fourth, Christchurch 6th and Wellington 9th.
