Two suspects, 20-year-old Yaw Danso and 19-year-old Amoo Daniel, are accused by Gomoah Ojobi police of pouring acid on a woman, Kate Aidoo, a mobile money trader, and stealing her Monday money.
The attack, which occurred around 10:30 am, seriously injured the victim and was transported to Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoah Fetteh, where she is being treated.
According to a police report, the suspects, after their despicable act, were arrested and severely beaten by a crowd, after which they were sent to the Gomoah Fetteh police station.
Later, a group of young men from a hundred men besieged the police station wanting to attack the detained suspects.
The divisional patrol team had to intervene in time to salvage the situation after the suspects were transferred to the Gomoa Ojobi District Police Station for necessary action.
