SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Exxon Mobil Corp. has hired BP's former crude oil merchant Ruddin Dhilawala to boost its trading capacity in Singapore, Reuters told Reuters on Thursday.

The seasoned trader is expected to join the company next month, sources said, and he is the company's second-largest external recruiter for its crude oil trading office in Singapore since July.

This decision is part of Exxon's plans to deepen energy trading by setting up a global group of experienced traders and strengthening risk management systems to increase profits.

An Exxon spokesman said the company did not usually comment specifically on these personnel issues. Dhilawala did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
