Man United legend Cole insists that Solskjaer is wrong for Van Gaal

Andrew Cole responded to Louis van Gaal after the Dutchman said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still "parking the bus" at Manchester United.

The Norwegian has lost just one of his 14 Premier League games and has guided United to the quarter-finals of the Champions League since his replacement of Jose Mourinho in December.

However, Van Gaal rejected the idea that Solskjaer reported to Old Trafford the offensive game style of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Cole, who was speaking at the launch of the International Champions Cup in Cardiff, said: "When I looked at what Louis said, I had a little mocking laugh . It all depends on what you perceive as a football attack.

"A lot of people would say that after what we've had in the last five years, it's a little more aggressive than we are used to."

"I'll give Ole the job. We all know that this is perhaps the most important appointment since the departure of Sir Alex.

Solskjaer will prepare for his first full season as United manager with a pre-season clash against Tottenham in China.

The Mauricio Pochettino team will present the opposition in Shanghai on July 25 as part of this year's Champions Cup.

It will be part of another major summer tour, which includes dates with Inter Milan in Singapore on July 20 and AC Milan in Cardiff on August 3.

Preparations will begin in Australia with friendly matches against Perth Glory and Leeds.

Tottenham will face Juventus in Singapore on July 21 and play Inter for a pre-season game in his new White Hart Lane stadium on Aug. 4.

Arsenal will play three games in the United States in July as part of the Champions Cup. The Unai Emery team will start its pre-season against Bayern Munich in Los Angeles, then the Roma in Charlotte and Real Madrid in Washington.
