Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Kim Grant aims to win the special competition of the Standards Committee that begins this weekend.

The Phobians will face Dreams FC in their opening match Sunday at the sports stadium in Accra.

This is the first time that competitive football has been played in the country, following the documentary by Anas Aremeyaw, number 12, which ended football activities since June 2018.

"Like all other coaches, we are ready to win. We did not come just to participate. And at the end, there are CAF competitions, "said Grant at a pre-match press conference at the club's secretariat.

Grant, who took office in early December 2018, urges supporters to be patient with his relatively young workforce.

"But you have to remember, it's been only 3 months since I was here, I've brought a lot of young players who have never participated in this step before. So, on that side, I ask supporters to be patient with them and to support them 100%, even if things are not going well for them.

"It's vital that every supporter understands the direction this club is taking and supports the team," he said.

The winner of the first level of the special NC competition will represent the country in the CAF Champions League while the second-tier winner will be able to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.
