Destroyed properties include car engines, spares and mechanic's tools
A fire destroyed 10 mechanical shops and a car in Ahodwo, behind the Crystal Rose Hotel, in the regional capital of Ashanti, Kumasi.
The fire, which also destroyed a carpentry workshop, began around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Some residents and mechanics tried to extinguish the fire to prevent further damage before members of the Ghana National Fire Service arrived to put him under control.
The destroyed property includes car engines, spare parts and mechanic tools.
An eyewitness told Elisha Adarkwah of Kumasi FM that the fire had started in one of the electric welding workshops and then spread to others.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but the fire departments have opened investigations.
The victims begged the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to help them.
