The deceased was found on a sidewalk at James Town with a deep cut
Police opened an investigation into the circumstances that led to the killing of a man in James Town, near the Fire Academy and a Ghana training school, Accra.
The deceased, who was later identified as Amadu Mohammed, was found on the sidewalk Tuesday in the early hours of the day, deeply cut.
Police said she was considering all options, including the possibility that it could have been attacked elsewhere and thrown on the scene.
Afia Tenge, public relations officer of the Accra Regional Police (PRO), said the police had been called to the scene yesterday around 01:05.
She added that the police information room had received information about the fatally wounded man.
Tenge DSP said that the James Town patrol team had quickly gone to the scene and saw it bleed profusely.
DSP Tenge said that the man, who would be 38, was found in a state of unconsciousness, adding that "we then drove him urgently to the hospital. University of Korle-Bu to be treated, but died shortly after his arrival. "
The Public Relations Officer of Accra Regional Police (PRO) said that a search carried out in his pocket had revealed a cell phone and a key.
"The body was photographed and deposited at the Korle-Bu Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy purposes," she said.
Further investigation by the police later revealed that Amadu Mohammed, an Okada rider, had been hired by a stranger at a location near the fire training school that fateful night.
Police suspect Amadu of being brutally attacked by the said pbadenger, who has yet to be arrested.
