According to FIFA law, in the past, if you play for the junior division of a given country, you can change your nationality, but the law has been changed.
Following the amendment of the law, many players had the opportunity to change their nationality while playing for the junior division of a given country.

In the case of Ghana, this was 50-50 because some players whose parents are Ghanaian but born outside have chosen to play for the country in question, like Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Other players also decided to play for Ghana while they were born outside the country.
YEN.com.gh has compiled a list of Ghanaian soccer stars who have chosen to be in Ghana 's senior national team, the Black Stars, even though they were born in other countries.
1. Kevin-Prince Boateng
The man from Barcelona on loan was born in Germany from a Ghanaian father and a German mother.
Boateng was selected for the German National Junior Team and many believed that he would continue to play for the senior team.
But before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Boateng changed his nationality by opting for Ghana. In this tournament, he explained how he played five times and scored once.
It has capped 15 times for Ghana, scoring two goals in the process.
2. Owusu-Abeyie Quincy
Owusu-Abeyie was born in Holland to Ghanaian parents. He then played for Holland in youth.
But in 2007 he asked for a change of nationality and he was accepted.
His first tournament in the Black Stars was in 2008, when Ghana hosted CAN. At the end of the campaign, Ghana won bronze.
He has so far presented 18 times and scored two goals.

3. Jeffrey Schlupp
Schlupp was born to Ghanaian parents in Hamburg, Germany on December 23, 1992. He grew up mainly in England after moving his family while he was young.
He could have chosen to play for Germany or England, but he chose Ghana.
Versatile Leicester City started playing for Ghana in 2011 and has already scored 15 goals, scoring a goal.
4. Kwesi Appiah
The AFC Wimbledon striker was born in England and he was eligible to play in European country and Ghana.
However, he could not refuse Ghana's invitation when he was asked to join the provisional team of 31 players for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
]He made his debut in Ghana's 2-1 win over South Africa on Jan. 27, 2015 and scored his first international goal in the quarter-final against Guinea.
5. Caleb Ekuban
The Trabzonspor striker was born in Villafranca di Verona, Italy, to Ghanaian parents. Ekuban said for the Ghana football team.
On April 20, 2018, Ekuban met with Ghana's national team head coach Akwasi Appiah. In March 2019, Ekuban was called to represent Ghana in qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He scored his first goal in competition for the Ghana Black Stars in his debut against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in an AFCON qualifier match on March 23, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Two days later, Ekuban scored his second goal for Ghana in a friendly match against Mauritania in Accra.
6. Adam Kwarasey
Kwarasey was born in Oslo, Norway, a father from Ghana and a mother from Norway. He has Ghanaian and Norwegian pbadports.
In November 2007, Kwarasey said he would play international football for Ghana. However, he played a friendly match against Norway under 21 in 2008.
He made his international debut for Ghana on September 2, 2011 in a qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations against Swaziland in 2012, before playing a friendly match against Brazil at Craven Cottage in London three days later.

7. Albert Adomah
The attacking midfielder of Aston Villa holds a Ghanaian pbadport and a British pbadport.
Adomah made his international debut by replacing Ghana in their 1-0 loss to Brazil on September 5th, 2011 at Craven Cottage.
He broke through the national team to secure his place in the provisional Ghana team of 26 men for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
