After five seasons, Batman finally arrives on Gotham…just in time for the final of the series! The Dark Knight will show his cape and hood for the first (and last) time in the Fox series in the next two-game final. The series is paused, but will return for its last two episodes next month. And we will never see Batman again! I'm kidding, he already has a new movie on the horizon.
All things considered, it's pretty impressive Gotham, a show that takes place in the Batman universe, managed to run five full seasons without Batman. I guess you could say Smallville did something similar, Clark Kent not becoming Superman before the end. Still, it's strange that it took Gotham this long to bring out the bat. Speaking of which, you can see it (well, his back at least) in the poster below.
Yes, it really looks like Batman. The first part of the two-part final is broadcast on April 18. Here is the synopsis:
While Bane (Shane West) promulgates his final plan for the destruction of Gotham, Gordon rallies his former enemies to save the city. Meanwhile, Nyssa al Ghul (guest star Jaime Murray) kidnaps Barbara's newborn daughter with the ambition of raising her as his. The second part of the tunes April 25. If I had to guess, I would say that Bruce Wayne will not slip into Batman's costume before the second game. In fact, I would not be surprised not to see Batman before the very last minutes of the series. But I could be wrong. If you are a bat fan and you are sad to see Batman leave, even if he has just arrived, do not worry. Warner Bros and DC will never let him stay away too long. Example: Matt Reeves » Batman the film is in progress. And hey, maybe Batman will even appear as a character from this standalone Joker movie. Or Birds of prey. Everything is possible.
