Accra, March 28, GNA – A circuit court in Accra
Thursday, an information technology specialist was sentenced to 10 years
imprisonment for preparation for the robbery commission.

Richard Sackey allegedly conspired with
Ibrahim Tunde and Ahmed Mbadawudu will rob Lawyer Geta Striggner-Quartey at
Ringway Domains in Osu, Accra.

Sackey pleaded not guilty but
the court presided over by Mr. Aboagye Tandoh, however, found Sackey guilty of
at the end of the trial and sentenced him accordingly.

According to the court, the prosecution was
able to establish Sackey's guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

Sackey's lawyer pleads for mitigation
prayed the court to betray justice with mercy, adding that handing over a
long sentence would make the convict more hardened after serving the
sentence.

The case reported by Chief Inspector Samuel
Ahiabor, who led the charge, stated that Sackey was a racing boy and a driver from
the complainant and his family.

In 2017, Sackey asked for help from Tunde and Mbadawudu who are witnesses to
the case of stealing the plaintiff and his family to Osu.

The prosecution said Sackey so drove the
the complainant's black Hyundai car to Kwame Nkrumah's circle and chose the
witnesses to steal the complainant.

The prosecution stated that Sackey had promised
500 ¢ GH witness when the flight operation continues successfully.

Chief Inspector Ahiabor told one of the witnesses:
however, informed the police by phone of the planned flight.

Police sent a team of police to
the scene and Sackey was arrested and in his statement caution admitted the
offense.
