Bolgatanga Central MP Isaac Adongo dragged the government to court for taking over Ghana's Amalgamated Trust (GAT) Limited.

Mynewsgh.com reports that Adongo described GAT as a complete government-led scam.

In a lawsuit against the Attorney General, Ghana Amalgamated Trust Limited and National Trust Holding Company Limited as the first, second and third defendants, the MP, a member of Parliament's Finance Committee, files four claims for compensation .

Costs badociated with the claim include the legal fees charged by the plaintiff's attorneys.

A month ago, Adongo reportedly described the Ghana Amalgamated Trust Limited as a scandalous waste of taxpayer money by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

In his view, this arrangement is dubious and aims to impose on taxpayers enormous budgetary costs without any real value, except to satisfy the minister.
