The 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame The induction ceremony takes place tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. We will post the best photos of the event throughout the evening.
Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music, the Zombies and the Cure make up the 2019 promotion. They were inducted by a peer group of stars, including Brian May of Queen, Harry Styles, David ByrneSimon Le Bon and John Taylor of Duran Duran, Susannah Hoffs of Bracelets and Trent Reznor of Nails of nine inches.
An artist is eligible for the Hall of Fame 25 years after his first commercial release. Nominating Committee Creates Shortlist, According to Hall official siteand then sends the ballot to "more than 1,000 historians, members of the music industry and artists – including all living Rock Hall members".
The Hall of Fame Rock & Roll has already chosen the Top 5 for enthronement, but this year seven artists have been inducted (Janet Jackson also made the final cut; she was inducted by Janelle Monae).
Def Leppard, Nicks and Roxy Music were eligible for years before being finally named; all three were then inducted in their first year. Def Leppard and Nicks finished first and second in fan vote. The Cure and Zombies were also in the top five. This was the second year of voting for Radiohead, which had become eligible for the first time last year.
The 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on April 27 on HBO.
