Stargirl series from DC Universe debuts at WonderCon

DC Universe, DC Comics' streaming and digital streaming platform, is expanding its live action offerings. The last show on the list is Stargirl, created by Geoff Johns, author of seasoned comics. A first look at the heroine-driven series debuted at the WonderCon.

Stargirl is the superhero identity of high school girl Courtney Whitmore, daughter-in-law of Star-Spangled Kid. The character has already made appearances on television, described by Britt Irvine in Smallville and by Sarah Gray in CW's Arrowverse, especially in Legends of tomorrow. Courtney also appeared in another DC Universe property, Young justice: outsidersin which she is briefly seen as the host of Goode World Studios.

This new live-action series, however, will be the first time Stargirl will be at the forefront of his own vehicle, with actress Nickelodeon Brec Bbadinger starring Courtney Whitmore. The show, which Johns will also oversee as a showrunner, will reunite his partner with heroes from the Justice Society of America and fight villains from the past and present.

Stargirl will arrive at DC Universe in 2020, joining Doom Patrol, Titans, and Swamps thingwhich DC first announced on May 31, 2019.
