The fencers of the badist priests (Atano) at Asanteman on Wednesday presented a brilliant traditional exhibition at the Manhyia Palace of Kumasi in order to formally launch the activities marking the 20th anniversary of the Asantehene's rise of the gold stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
Asantehene, who was dressed in a beautiful white cloth, witnessed the spectacular performance of the badist priests.
The bad priests, dressed in raffia cloth, paid homage to Otumfuo, their traditional overlord.
The bad priests made a brilliant display to entertain the Asantehene and the huge crowd at "Dwabirem" in Manhyia.
Before the feast, the Otumfuo performed certain rituals by personally killing sheep at Manhyia Palace.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has effectively led Asanteman and Ghana to prosperity over the past 20 years.
Several activities were organized to mark this anniversary and will be crowned of a great durbar on April 21, 2019.
