Arrow: Emily Bett Rickards announces her departure

CW, Arrow is expected to end with season 8. However, Emily Bett Rickards, who plays the role of Felicity Smoak in the series, announced that she would leave the series before that.

Rickards revealed that she would leave the series on her Instagram account by writing, "Felicity and I are very tight, but after one to seven years we say goodbye." Co-star Colton Haynes – who plays Roy Harper – commented on the article by writing, "My love will be missed, so happy that this trip has brought us together." Stephen Amell also commented on the departure saying, "I need to make it up to Monday.For the moment, I like you."

Felicity is one of the main characters in the series since her debut in 2012. She has appeared in the seven seasons so far, and it's unclear what role – if any – she will play in season 8.
