Chucky is born again at Orion Films A child's game restart, and it will be voiced by none other than Mark Hamill (Star wars)!

The news was announced at the Orion panel presentation today at the WonderCon conference in Anaheim, says Deadline. "The fans bellowed their enthusiasm when Hamill appeared on video screens overhead in a recorded greeting."

I was skeptical, that's the least we can say, but as the site notes, Hamill is an accomplished voice actor who cumulates numerous credits in animation films , television programs, video games, radio series and web projects. The signature role in his voice credits is to this day the Joker, the DC Comics villain he first portrayed in 1992 Batman: The animated series and then it's the film of arrival of 1993, Batman: Mask of fantasy. The maniac energy that Hamill brought to the Joker in the framework of follow-up animation projects (as well as video games, among which Arkham Asylum) established The Prince of the Crime Clown as perhaps the best-examined role of Hamill's entire acting career.

We like Brad Dourif and he's going always to be our Chucky, yet it's a huge win for Orion. What do you think?

This is Hamill who announces the new wonder of WonderCon:

"People let me say that I'm talking about my best friend …"

In the modern take, a mother (Aubrey Plaza) gives his son (Gabriel Bateman) one of these Buddi dolls for her birthday, ignoring her more sinister nature. The first trailer looked dark and really captivated the director's tone Lars KlevbergThe short film "Polaroid" (watch it here).

The cast also includes Beatrice Kitsos ("The Exorcist" of FOX), Ty Consiglio (Wonder) and Brian Tyree Henry ( "Atlanta"). Klevberg runs Tyler Burton Smith's (Kung Fury) scenario based on the original movie.
