The various road projects under the $ 2 billion bauxite agreement with Sinohydro are expected to start in April 2019.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah told reporters on Sunday (March 31st) in Accra.
The first tranche of the Sinohydro Agreement is worth $ 649 million, and below that amount, several road projects are expected to be implemented across the country.
According to the minister, the projects would start with the exchange of Tamale.
It should be recalled that the framework agreement of project support between the Government of Ghana and Sinohydro of China was concluded in 2017.
It was then approved by Parliament and two sets of contracts, according to the Minister, were tabled in Parliament.
The two contracts, told reporters Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, were as follows: "Contracts of Construction Engineering Contracts (EPC), Deferred Payment Arrangements (DPAs)".

DGN Online understands that Sinohydro's Phase 1 projects include 84 km of downtown roads in Accra, 100 km of Kumasi, a Tamale exchange project, the PTC roundabout exchange project, Takoradi, a dual lane Adenta-Dodowa 14 km.
Other projects include roads in downtown Sunyani (39 km), roads in the western region and downtown Cape Coast (32.19 km), upgrading of some feeder roads in the regions. Ashanti and West, the rehabilitation of a 38 km road between Oda, Ofoase and Abirem, the construction of a Hohoe-Jesikan (66.40 km) -Dodo Pepesu , for a total of 441.59 kilometers.
Ga Nord – Trobu should travel 19.03 km, of which 23.7 km for Centra – Anyaa Sowutoum, Ga East – Dome Kwabenya 21.70 km, Ledzokuku – Teshie 11.3 km, Nanakrom – Santeo 8.0 km.
The beneficiaries of the Kumasi City Road Project are the Manyhia subway stations, which will be 11 km away and the Suame subway station 9.45 km away; TafoPankrono Subway, 9.79 km; Subway of Asokwa, 9.91 km; Kwadaso Subway, 6.29 km; Oforikrom sub-metro 7.43 km; Subin Sub Metro, 8.98 km; Nhyiaeso Sub-Metro 7.00 km; Metro Bantama, 10 km; Asante Mampong, 20.15km
In Cape Coast, there will be the construction of three roads at Akotokyir, six roads for the Amamoma region; seven routes for Abura New Community and three routes around the polytechnic area.
For the western region, there will be the construction of the road and links Apawusika; a 10.19 km route for Prestea Town
According to the minister, selected feeder roads in the Ashanti and Western regions include a 7.2 km Achiasejxn. – Wansamere – Awisasujxn service road; 4 km Mpasatia – roads of the city; 4,5 km from Nyinahin – Adupri feeder road; Nyinahin – SeresoTimpon – Service Road Achiasejxn, 29,7 km; 4.1 km Nyinahin – city roads 4.1; 1,5 km from Nyinahin market jxn. – service road of the church of Pentecost; Nyinahini – Kyekyewere service road, 14 km; 3 km Kessekrom – Adiembra feeder road.
Mbadive development
The $ 2 billion Sinohydro facility is expected to significantly boost infrastructure development across Ghana. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its opposition to the agreement, misleadingly describing it as a loan facility rather than barter.
