Madina-based hip-hop sensation, Kirani Ayat is discouraged by his inability to win the video award of the year at the 3 Music Awards.

The official video of Guda, one of Ayat's fiery albums, was nominated in the video category of the year for the second edition of the 3 Music Awards.

The other videos nominated in this category were Sarkodie and Omar Sterling, from Medikal, How Much remix ft.

Akwaboah Hye Me Bo, Joey B – The Stables of The Same Gang,

M.anifest – Azumah Nelson Flow,

MzVee – Come and see my Moda ft. Yemi Alade,

Shatta Wale – Gringo,

King Promise – selfish,

Ko-Jo Cue x Shaker – What We Do 4 Love (Remix) ft. Sarkodie x KiDi

Trigmatic – Where are we going?

At the awards ceremony, Shatta Wale's Gringo video was announced as the music video of the year.

Following the announcement, Ayat turned to Twitter to express his vehement dissatisfaction with the rewards program, and apparently implied that he deserved more than Shatta Wale.

He also stated that the current format of the system to identify winners of certain categories was not able to return winners who really deserved it.

Below, the tweets made by Ayat to express his dissatisfaction:

It's so disappointing. They complain about lack of culture, creativity and representation and when someone does it exceptionally, they close their eyes and continue with mediocrity like WTF? Do you want to progress or regress? What are you trying to tell us to do videos yawa or https://t.co/S3P3NAj8pL

Is the "did you vote" argument in some categories redundant and a tool to avoid taking responsibility for their yawa? Because you could have the best content of all time, but in the absence of a large number of fans, the greatest artist will always win with mediocre mediums.
