Bolton's defeat leaves Steve McClaren, QPR boss, "on the edge of the bag"

The Queens Park Rangers are about to sack their manager Steve McClaren, according to Sky Sports.

The decision comes after winning just one championship win since Boxing Day, when they beat Ipswich Town 3-0.

This led the Hoops to 17th in the standings and only eight points above the jump zone.

No doubt the season has been difficult for Steve McClaren.

The battle against financial fair play continued late last summer when the club was seen imposing a hefty fine and embargo on transfers for breaking the rules in 2014.

This led QPR to lose a number of key players last summer, including Nedum Onuoha, Jack Robinson, James Perch, Jamie Mackie and Alex Smithies.

Unfortunately for McClaren, the club did not have the funds to replace them.

However, after recruiting players like Angel Rangel, Nahki Wells, Tomer Hemed and Geoff Cameron, the form took an upward turn.

However, a number of injuries among key players, as well as the loss of Mbadimo Luongo in favor of the Asian Cup, caused a turnaround, which they could not recover.

Football.London has contacted QPR for a comment.
