A rapper killed by police while he was sleeping

The family of an American man shot by the police while he was sleeping in a car doubts that justice is done.

Willie McCoy was fainting behind the wheel of his vehicle when Taco Bell was forced to go to Vallejo, San Francisco, on February 9, when armed police surrounded his car.

The 21-year-old African-American man had a rifle on his lap and a store employee called 911.

A recently released Bodycam sequence shows six officers discussing how to recover the weapon.

"I think we are taking it off," says one of them. "I do not even want to miss my chance, I'll go, I'll take that gun, and I'll pull it out, if he catches it, Yup."

After several minutes, McCoy moves for the first time. Four seconds later, the police fired several shots into the vehicle, killing him.

At a press conference this week, McCoy's family said that there was no indication that he was trying to recover the weapon – which did not contain any weapons. clip, meaning that it was either empty, or provided with a single bullet.

"He has not at any time raised his arm with a gun, no one sees it," said John Burris, a McCoy family lawyer.

"It's an execution by a firing squad," said Dave Harrison, the budding rapper's cousin. "They killed him in his sleep, he scratched his arm in his sleep, and they murdered him, there is no justification."

Willie's older brother, Marc, stated that none of the officers identified themselves as a police officer before opening fire.

The police did not say how many bullets she had fired. The family felt that he had been hit by at least 25 people.

The high-level police defended the actions of the officers.

"When he woke up, you can see on the video that he leans forward, his left elbow and his left shoulder toward his knees, where the weapon was," he said. Capt John Whitney of the Vallejo Police Department.

"He was looking for the weapon and at that moment, the policemen shot him."
