The prices of iPhones in China have been reduced – again.

Major e-commerce sites, such as Tmall and JD.com, have already lowered phone prices twice this year. Now the discounts are officially approved on the Apple website.

For the first time this year, Apple has lowered the price of the iPhone on its official Chinese website.

On Monday, the smartphone maker dropped prices from 300 yuan ($ 44.7) to 500 yuan for all models of iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7, according to its website.

Caixin has learned that this reduction corresponds to the reduction in the tax burden that China has imposed on the manufacturing and other sectors since April 1.

The new regulations reduce value added tax (VAT) for manufacturers to 13% from 16% and the VAT rate for the transport and construction sectors from 10% to 9%.

The prices posted on the Apple website are still not inferior to those of some e-commerce sites, which saw the price of iPhone X models fall by more than 2,000 yuan last month, while the sales of phones lukewarm in China were thin.
