Mark Fox was officially introduced on Monday as Cal's basketball coach, with the straw hat band, the dance team and a mini-light show as he headed for Pete Newell Court.
In presenting the first major hiring of his position as Sports Director Bears, JIm Knowlton said on an initial group of about 40 candidates, Fox, who has been head coach in Nevada (2005-2009) and Georgia ( 2010-2018) quickly climbed to the top of the list.
"He's a teacher, a leader, he's inspiring in the way he runs his business every day," Knowlton said.
