PARIS (Reuters) – France's aerospace and defense electronics group, Thales, has announced that it has finalized the acquisition of the previously announced Gemalto chipset worth € 4.8 billion, reinforcing Thales's presence. in the rapidly expanding security services market.
Thales had to remove several regulatory hurdles before finally finalizing the transaction and reiterated that the Gemalto purchase would increase its overall revenue and strengthen its presence in Latin America, North America and Asia.
