The Ministry of Energy has downplayed calls for a timetable for ongoing power cuts in the country.
According to Nana Damoah's communications consultant, the demand for a timetable for Ghanaians to manage the energy situation is premature.
"We are not yet in the planning stage of loading. It will take 10 to 12 days to solve the problem of intermittent power outages and we do not even know when it will be necessary to take megawatts at a given location. It's not something you've just predicted and planned, but it will end soon, "he told Starr News.
The government says the intermittent power cuts will be completed in 12 days after an apology was presented to Ghanaians for the inconvenience caused on Monday.
The recent power supply difficulties come just two weeks after Energy Minister John Peter Amewu badured that the situation would stabilize in five days.
At a press conference Monday morning, Deputy Minister of Energy William Owuraku Aidoo said that enough measures had been put in place to remedy the situation.
"We have enough fuel, while the government does not have money and we manage the energy sector badly, it's an absolute headache … in short, all I'm trying to say we have taken the necessary measures to minimize the minimum disruption of power in the country.
"All I will say now on behalf of the Hon. Mr. Minister, the President of the Republic will apologize to the people of Ghana and badure you that we are doing everything in our power to restore the electricity supply. "
