"We have also set up a special Procurement Inquiry Unit to conduct random investigations of entities' procurement activities," Adjei said.

Among the anomalies discovered during the investigation include the rigging of bids and offers, collusion among bidders, deletion of bids and bids, where competitors were forced to refuse to participate, and complementary offers, in which competitors submit symbolic offers to promote one of them. .

He added that in order to effectively manage the entities' procurement activities, supply chain authorities have found the need to badociate with an institution with expertise. and the experience required to join efforts to develop a comprehensive skills and certification program. .

He stated that the program was aimed at professionalizing and licensing practitioners in the country; stating that "in this regard, the Authority has incorporated a Center of Excellence named – Supply Chain Support Services (SCSS), which will work closely with Commerce Edge to meet the requirements of this program. "

He said key players in Ghana's procurement and supply chain community should be closely involved.

These include the Office of the Minister of Procurement, the Accredited Institute of Procurement and Supply, the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply, the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management and Educational Institutions. who provide courses on purchasing and the supply chain.
