The iPhone, the iPod touch and the iPad have already made Apple a major player in the gaming field. Touch screen devices have been very competitive for portable consoles such as the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP. However, two faces heading to the Apple camp suggest that Cupertino wants to be even more serious about gambling.

Citing unnamed sources, a MCV The report reveals that Rob Saunders, former Nintendo UK public relations manager, has left the company to take a newly created position at Apple, where he is expected to work with PR for iOS game content. Saunders worked with Nintendo for 7 years and was deeply involved in the Nintendo Wii and DS console launches.

Nick Grange, director of public relations for Activision Europe, also worked for Electronic Arts and Microsoft. Sources say Grange will focus on iPad hardware rather than iOS games in general.

If these claims are true, it's bad news for Nintendo and Sony. Nintendo has already described Apple as "the enemy of the future" and, although the company is trying to get ahead with the 3D without glbades in its new handheld, the huge difference between the Game prices and additional features of Apple devices is proving to be the deciding factor for many.
