The theory, put forward by Reddit user marisaann26, claims that the key to season eight lies in Daenerys Targaryen's vision in the House of Independents since the start of season two.
In the vision, Dany sees himself in a King's Landing desolate, where the iron throne is covered with snow, ice or ashes, depending on your point of view.
Dany reaches out to the throne but is interrupted by the cries of his dragons. Until here, so symbolic.
The vision, some fans predict, foreshadows the treachery of the current ally (and lover) Jon Snow by Daenerys as being with the king of the night, "so that she can be with her dragons again".
Quoting a warlock who tells the mother of the dragons that she will be with her babies "in the winter, summer, and then again winter," the fan theory claims that Dany can not be reunited with his three dragons – a dragon of Scary Ice Viserion included – unless she becomes the queen of the night.
Consider us reluctantly on board. All these predictions of Jon Snow were accurate, after all.
