WWE NXT TakeOver: New York – The results are revealed as the weekend of WrestleMania 35 begins

The WrestleMania edition of NXT TakeOver: New York is always a phenomenal event and a perfect weekend debut.

And this time, in Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center in New York, the WWE event kicked off dramatically with a team shock.

The NXT superstars set the tone in each of their TakeOver stages and it was no different when War Raiders defended the NXT Tag team championship against Aleister Black and Ricochet.

Velveteen Dream put his North American NXT championship on the line against Matt Riddle in a thrilling encounter. and Pete Dunne and Walter competed for the previous title of WWE UK in a physically intense affair.

NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler will be challenged by Io Shirai, Bianca Belair and Kairi Sane in a four-goal game.

And Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole will tackle a draw against two for the vacant NXT championship.

2. Velveteen Dream (c) beat Matt Riddle in a single match to retain the NXT North American Championship.

3. Walter beat Pete Dunne (c) in a single match to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship
