Her Excellency Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee, Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations, advised students from different schools in Ghana who participated in the UN Model 2019 to help create, at their ease, a world of better, today and in the future.

She launched the appeal when the United Nations Model Delegates in Ghana, accompanied by their guardians and leaders, visited the Permanent Mission of Ghana in New York on 1 April 2019 to become familiar with the activities of the mission.

"We are tackling issues that are critically important to the Government and the people of Ghana. We do what Ghanaians want us to do. Whatever we do is linked to the government's policy and its implementation at a very local level, be it in the field of health or climate change, "said the ambbadador to the work of the Mission permanent with young students.

She urged them to contribute to the work of the United Nations and, for example, in speaking of the preservation of the environment, asked them to ensure the cleanliness of the environment and to preserve the environment. energy while avoiding leaving lights on when they are not needed. "We must do everything we can, no matter how small, to advance the goals of the United Nations. So, if you are a supporter of the UN, then you must take active action wherever you are.

United Nations models, also known as UN or MUN models, are an extracurricular activity in which students typically play a role in the role of UN delegates and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, usually organized by a high school or college MUN club.

The role of the Ghanaian delegation played a role in the Biafra war, which took place in Nigeria between 1967 and 1970 in the United Nations Security Committee, as well as in the mechanisms for supporting post-conflict economic growth .

Kuuku Egyensaim Ampah and Jacob Idan received the Secretary General's Award and the Honorable Mention went to Naa Akushia Otoo and Efua Addo Yebo.

Ms. Vivian Serwaa Gyasi, head of the mission's Chancery, also added the need for them to continuously help achieve the goals set by the United Nations.
