Shaun Wright-Phillips sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur star Danny Rose after commenting on racism, encouraging him to stay strong.

The Spurs' left-back spoke during the week and said he was eager to see the back of football because of racism in football and he was frustrated by the lack of action against the supporters.

This follows a number of recent incidents at football matches, including the recent confrontation between England and Euro 2020 in Montenegro, during which racist scandals were reported to have occurred. against many of the English black players, including Rose.

Raheem Sterling was also targeted during this match. The Manchester City winger also reportedly suffered racist abuse at Stamford Bridge in December, while Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi was also targeted during his victory at Dynamo Kiev.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Juventus striker Moise Kean was also the victim of racist abuse in the stands during a match in Cagliari.

And Wright-Phillips now has a say on racism in the game, calling it "disgusting," while he's sent a message to Rose – stay strong and show a strong face.

Addressing the BBC's Football Focus program, Wright-Phillips said: "It's very sad, I've already had a few conversations about it before and for me, it's disgusting that this is still in the game.

"Some of us are going to play with our children and in some places there is a chance they will witness it and I do not think it is right. For me, the best solution is to ban whole sections of fans. Soon, fans will start controlling it themselves.

"He must stay strong and show a strong face and hope that they will follow and one day it will not exist anymore."
