Shaun Wright-Phillips has a message for Spurs star Danny Rose after his comments on racism

Shaun Wright-Phillips sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur star Danny Rose after commenting on racism, encouraging him to stay strong.

The Spurs' left-back spoke during the week and said he was eager to see the back of football because of racism in football and he was frustrated by the lack of action against the supporters.

Addressing the BBC's Football Focus program, Wright-Phillips said: "It's very sad, I've already had a few conversations about it before and for me, it's disgusting that this is still in the game.

"Some of us are going to play with our children and in some places there is a chance they will witness it and I do not think it is right. For me, the best solution is to ban whole sections of fans. Soon, fans will start controlling it themselves.

"He must stay strong and show a strong face and hope that they will follow and one day it will not exist anymore."
