"Tomorrow (Sunday), we will know, it is the doctors who will decide," said the counselor after announcing Saturday that Pelé would return to Sao Paulo permanently Monday.
The hospital in the Paris suburbs has not officially announced the date of its release.
The three-time World Cup winner was admitted Wednesday into a hospital suffering from a urinary tract infection, the day after a promotional appearance with French striker Kylian Mbappe.
The Brazilian news site G1 announced that Pelé was planning to leave the hospital on Saturday to return to Brazil, but had been delayed by new tests and would remain under observation until what it reaches 100%.
The infection was not serious and was under control, according to members of Pelé's entourage.
"Thanks a lot for all this love! Antibiotics work," tweeted Pele on Friday. "I feel much better and I think I'm ready to play again!"
The event in Paris was initially scheduled for November, but the Brazilian "was not able to travel".
Pelé has had several health problems in recent years.
A similar infection put him into intensive care in November 2014.
In 2016, Pelé, who played 1,363 professional matches, scoring 1,281 goals, was not able to light the flame at the Rio Olympics because of hip pain.
"I was not physically fit to participate in the opening of the Games," he said at the time.
In January 2018, he canceled a trip to London, fearing a "stressful" and "tiring" trip.
