The only good news of this lack of change is that Land Rover has kept the exterior dimensions overall, while recognizing that 70% of previous Evoque customers have driven it into an urban environment and therefore did not want it to become too big for management. in cities or towns.
At least there are more changes under the skin. As before, you have the choice between three turbo-gasoline engines and three turbo-diesel, with a capacity of 2.0 liters.
Each of them, with the exception of the entry-level 150-hp 150-hp version, is equipped with four-wheel drive and a mild hybrid propulsion system. 48 volts to reduce emissions and improve average fuel economy. The diesel engine, in particular, is much better, even if it is still a little vocal at low speed and the driving quality is good too, even on rough roads.
Start supporting and as long as this refinement continues, the Evoque's dynamic driving style makes it more responsive and precise, although we would not want a little more driving and the driver's seat to inform you what the car does under you.
Gasoline is visibly more flexible with regard to rapid changes of direction, without the weight of the diesel engine, although it can get a little noisier at higher diets when it can also be mildly asthmatic .
Ok, so the Evoque may not be a sporty sedan or a sports saloon, but you can still run it down a winding country road at a speed that's right.

Ironically, it almost makes the loss of the three-door version even worse, because you think the car could have real potential for a sportier SVR model.
It's a story similar to the interior too. As on the outside, the Land Rover designers wanted the interior of the new Evoque to be a quieter and more sophisticated place.
The Velar, with its two touch screens that dominate the cabin, is inspired by the possibility of choosing seats based on wool and leather. Its design is certainly much sharper than that of the original.
There is more space than before and a larger boot of 591 liters. The interior also houses two new smart technologies. The first is the Clearsight rearview mirror that can act as a normal mirror or, by pressing a switch located below, displays the view from a camera facing the back.
