Stephen Mulhern reveals why he could not replace Ant McPartlin on I'm a Celebrity

Stephen Mulhern said that he could not walk on Ant McPartlin's feet by replacing him in I'm Celebrity.

The presenter was tipped to replace favorite Geordie as he faced personal problems last year.

Ant was forced to take a break while he was focusing on his recovery after a hard day in 2018.

The star, 43, was involved in a car accident last March and later pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated.

He was fined £ 86,000 and banned for 20 months.

It was said that Mulhern was wanted, but in the end, This Morning host Holly Willoughby was approved.

The 42-year-old said he really needed a female voice in the Outback and that he had enjoyed every minute of the series.

"It was the best choice, you could not go with another guy," he told the Sun.

"It must have been a hostess and Holly was perfect. Holly and Dec were working a treat.

"When we were in Florida for Takeaway last year, we talked about myself doing a lot more things in the series.

"But you can not replace Ant, I'm not going to put myself in the shoes of a friend, I could not do as well as him and I'm glad he's back."

British viewers were pleased to see that nothing had really changed since Ant and Dec were finally reunited.

Fans quickly noticed how much the troubled presenter was in good health and how chemistry was still there.

"Ant and Dec have missed so much, I'm so happy that Ant is back and looks so happy and healthy," wrote a fan.

"My Saturday nights are over!" a spectator posted on twitter.
