What does Phil Jagielka and Billy Ray Cyrus have in common?

On Friday, Lil Nas X released a surprise remix of "Old Town Road" with guest artist Billy Ray Cyrus, pushing many people to call this "unlikely collaboration" a resounding success.

On Sunday, Phil Jagielka became the "unlikely" hero of the weekend, helping Everton to a shocking defeat to fourth-placed Arsenal.

The similarities are striking:

Many had counted Billy Ray Cyrus, 57, out of the music scene, his biggest hit having been "Achy Breaky Heart" in 1992.

Jagielka, 36, had an "Achy Breaky Heart" at the start of the season when he received what many saw as a tough red card in the Wolves game.

Lil Nas X received a too strong red card from Billboard when he made him get off the list of the 100 best countries to not be enough country.

With Michael Keane in form at the center back, Jags did not see the time to play before February and was to replace in Sunday's match against Arsenal. When Keane became ill, Jagielka had a surprise start.

The remixed version of "Old Town Road", with the added voices of Billy Ray Cyrus, was a surprise release on Friday.

Phil Jagielka not only scored on Lucas Digne's shot, he completed the pbad with a calm pbad. And although pre-match commentators worry about his age and his pace, he kept a pure state. Everton won the match 1-0 and Jags set the record for becoming the highest scorer in the Premier League this season.

"Old Town Road – Remix" has become viral and is currently the number one song on iTunes.

After Jags' goal, he kept his head cool and stood in front of Everton fans, perhaps with the following words from "Old Town Road":

"No stress, I've gone through all this

I'm like a Marlboro man so I kick my back "

After the match, coach Marco Silva said about the center of the match:

"Jags is a very good professional. It is important on the outside or on the inside of the field. "

Phil's contract may be in place in a few months, but he'll "roll until he can not do it anymore" and you "really can not tell him anything at all".

The last days have proven that you are never too old to add a sick couplet to a rap / country song and that you are never too old to beat Arsenal.
