Former Kraken employee in New York continues action against $ 900,000 non-payment

Kraken hired Silverman two years ago to manage his trading desk. The terms include a base salary of $ 150,000 and a 10% commission on the annual profits of the trading desks. After leaving the company, Kraken would have agreed to pay him a lump sum of $ 907,631. The bitcoin exchange did not honor this agreement and therefore the lawsuit.

Has Kraken made a quiet comeback to New York?

In addition to claiming compensation, Silverman also claims that Kraken operates in New York despite claims to the contrary. Although this may be dismissed as the actions expected of a former employee, the complaint is corroborated by another lawsuit filed last year by another Kraken elder, Robert Adler.

In his complaint, Adler claims to have been hired to work in the Big Apple from September 2017:

Applicant [Adler] relocated the New York workspace to [Kraken] Silverman's Apartment Negotiation Office at a WeWork office located at 205 East 42^{North Dakota} Street. Payward approved this workspace as a temporary solution to allow the plaintiff to find an independent office for the Trading Desk in New York. Under the direction of Payward, the Applicant oversaw the construction of the New York Trading Area and played a role in staffing.

New York State vs. Kraken – Two More Witnesses?

Adler's claim that he was hired by Kraken to work in New York in 2017 is interesting because the Kraken has already declared that he left the state in 2015 because of what he saw as a financial regulatory environment too zealous. New York announced last year that it was investigating Kraken and other cryptographic exchanges for potential violation of virtual currency regulations, and now has potentially two more witnesses if it has not done so yet.

At the time, the announcement of the investigation by New York regarding the investigation had not been good with the Kraken founder, Jesse Powell.
