MineWare mining technology provider and equipment manufacturer Komatsu launched their first factory-installed payload management system in Germany called Argus PLM.

In a press release, the companies explained that it was an original equipment manufacturer or an OEM version of the Argus surveillance system designed by MineWare exclusively for the Komatsu excavator range. The updated solution, however, is able to reduce costs per ton as it helps miners to increase the productivity and efficiency of their loading tool.

"By combining the capabilities of Komatsu and MineWare, we are giving our customers the opportunity to fully integrate machine-to-machine production improvement technology," said Roy Pater, vice president of marketing and sales at MineWare. . "Argus PLM enables OEMs, such as Komatsu, to provide a superior and unmatched machine for the mining industry, while driving technology development to stand-alone, remote mining operations."

Pater explained that the Argus PLM, which will be available on all new Komatsu PC7000-11 models, fits seamlessly into the Komtrax heavy-machinery manufacturer's operating system, and then appears on the on-board display. The solution then provides real-time production information from the machine to the operator. If the mine site has appropriate connectivity, the information can also be returned to the site office.
