Some trainees from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were requested to return home until further notice.
Trainees, made up of recruits and cadets, had to go through the final phase of their training after successfully completing a three-month internship in the country's various fire stations.
The directive, contained in a letter dated April 1 and issued by Fire Chief Edwin Ekow Blankson, gave no reason, except that "appropriate steps are taken to authenticate documents and other information submitted to the Service by the trainees concerned. . "
"Only those who meet the criteria to be hired by the Ghana National Fire Service will be recalled to participate in the final phase of the training program," the text adds.
However, he asked the first, second and third lots, who had received a letter of appointment and who were receiving an allowance, to remain in office.
