Naa Dr Chiir VII is the seventh supreme chief of the traditional Nandom region and son of Naa Puobe Imoru. He was born on October 13, 1945 in Nandom.

He attended local authorities and Nandom Middle Day schools from 1951 to 1958 before going to public high school in Tamale (now, Tamale High School).

He has obtained a certificate of general studies, ordinary level (1st division) and an advanced level.
