A British supermarket chain apologized and withdrew three Easter candy bars following complaints of racism.
Waitrose reacted after the three packets of white Easter ducklings, milk and dark chocolate provoked the indignation of the customers.
The trio was labeled "mellow", "crispy" and "ugly" – with dark chocolate labeled "ugly".
This offended some customers and the supermarket temporarily removed the ducklings from the sale during the overhaul of its packaging: deletion of the tags.
The redesigned duck packs are now on sale again.
The names are thought to have been inspired by the song "The Ugly Duckling" from the fairy tale of the Danish Hans Christian Andersen.
