Fire the policeman Simon
A vehicle of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS) working group bearing registration number GW 8114-16 crashed on Monday a police officer who killed him on the coup, on the border with Aflao.
Sergeant Simon Nana Komla, who was part of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Crash Squad, was heading towards the Aflao border when he allegedly hit a Hyudai Grace utility vehicle that crashed and died after landing on the path the CEPS vehicle, allegedly pursued a smuggler.
Superintendent Obrako Bempah, commander of the Aflao police, confirmed the incident at the Ghana News Agency and said that the mortal remains of the officer had been sent to Accra for autopsy.
He added that both drivers were in custody and participated in the investigations.
